Floors, kitchens and bathrooms require extra careful color selection. Here more durability, wipeability and resistance to stains are required than for other carpentry. The paint should preferably oxidize quickly as well, so that you can start walking on the floor or opening the kitchen doors as soon as possible. This can be achieved by choosing the colors that have the best durability, and by painting three layers of the finishing paint to get an extra layer and a more water-repellent surface. Here we have selected some denominations from our most durable and fast-oxidizing colors.

What you have to keep in mind is that it takes a little longer than modern colors before the egg oil tempera hardens properly so that it becomes really durable, it takes about 1-4 months. So during the first time, the egg oil tempera is sensitive to use, but already after about 1-3 days, when the paint has stopped chalking, it is possible to walk carefully on the finished painted floor in the socks. When you paint, you wait about 1-3 days between each layer. After about 5-7 days after the last painting, you can start using the kitchen/bathroom or move furniture carefully on the floor, but don't drag furniture around so it scratches the new paint surface. Also wait to wash off the paint surface with cleaning  for the first few months. Spills are quickly wiped off with a damp cloth the first time. In this, sometimes patience-testing, way, you get the egg oil tempera as durable as it can be.

Tip! -
- Select the wood receipt for the finishing color.
- Paint the primer and preferably three layers with the finishing color.
- Polish the surface after 1-3 weeks when the paint surface has oxidized properly and feels hard and not chalky.
- Use mild hand washing detergent in lukewarm water when cleaning, alternatively olive oil soap dissolved in water. The olive oil soap removes stains better, but is also stronger against the color.
- Keep in mind that insurance companies may have opinions on the choice of color type for wet rooms, even surfaces that are not exposed to direct water flushing. Here it may be useful to know that egg oil tempera is not a so called wet room paint that is tested and approved by the paint industry, but that the wood paint mix of egg oil tempera is water repellent if it is only exposed to a little splash every now and then, while being open to diffusion. Do not paint with egg oil tempera directly in the shower.
